Short Story Competition
Adult category (over 16s): up to 1000 words
£5 entry fee
Prize: £50 plus voucher from the Forget Me Not cafe.
Children's category (16 and under): up to 500 words
Theme: Behind the door
£2 entry fee
Prize: £10 book voucher
Entries are welcome from anywhere in the world, but must be written in English and must be the authors's own words.
Only one entry per person.
If you are 16 or over on the 26th October 2019, please enter the adult category. If you are under 16 on this date, please enter the children's category.
Entry is by email only. No hard copy entries will be accepted. Please email entries to email@example.com. In the subject line, type: 'Short Story Competition Over 16' or 'Short Story Competition 16 and under', as appropriate. In the body of the email, please tell us the title of your story, your name, address, and telephone number. If 16 or under, please confirm your date of birth. Attach your story as a .docx, .doc or .rtf file, with the title of your story as the file name.
To be typed in Times New Roman, 12pt and double-spaced. Please don't include your name in the story document.
The word limit does not include the title.
Entries must not have been published elsewhere, including online.
Entries must not have been awarded 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prizes in any other competition, whether published or not.
Stories must have no violent or sexual content.
Winners will be announced on 9th November during Moulton Literary Festival at Moulton Community Centre, Sandy Hill, Reedings, Moulton, Northampton, NN3 7AX.
Copyright will be retained by the author. However, winning stories to be published on the Moulton Literary Festival website.
The closing date for entries is 26th October 2019.
Entry fees can be paid in cash on the day, or online through PayPal (please send to firstname.lastname@example.org).
